CAPBRETON, France (Friday, May 2, 2014) - The Swatch Girls Pro France and Pro Junior will return to the iconic beach breaks of Seignosse/Hossegor come August 20th to celebrate the highest level of women's professional surfing during an exciting five-day waiting period.
With 6-Star ranking points on the line, this event will once again serve an opportunity for the world's best to either secure a maiden qualification for the elite ASP Women's World Championship Tour (WCT) or maintain their position amongst the ASP Women's Qualification Series Top 6 and re-qualify.
Traditionally a busy summer week along the South-West France coastline, the Swatch Girls Pro event window draws large crowds to watch the biggest names in surfing and numerous up-and-comers battle it out in quality waves and warm waters.
"I've won it the last two years," said defending champion Courtney Conlogue (USA), "So it's one of my favorite events for sure. To get three wins in a row would be an absolute dream."
A few surfers will also have the privilege to surf on their home turf with the likes of Pauline Ado and Johanne Defay, current WCT competitors, leading the charge and perennial threats Justine Dupont, Maud Le Car and Alizé Arnaud, who will also be looking to impress and satisfy the crowd's hopes for a local hero.
The ASP 6-Star Swatch Girls Pro France and 2-Star Swatch Girls Pro France Junior are scheduled for August 20-24, 2014 in Seignosse/Hossegor, South-West France. For all results, photos, video highlights, press releases and LIVE webcast, check out the event mini-site.
