Lakey Peterson (USA) goes up against Nikki Van Dijk (AUS) in a battle to move on to the Quarters in Cascais.

In a scrappy battle to stay in the event, Lakey Peterson and Nikki Van Dijk traded waves in tricky conditions. It was Peterson, though, who posted a set of higher scores that put her firmly in the lead: With a 7.00 and a 6.17, she stayed a few steps ahead of her opponent, who wasn't quite able to to catch up.

When the final horn sounded, Van Dijk still needed a 7.57, and was eliminated from the competition.
